Lili Reinhart, known for her breakout role as Betty Cooper on the crazy popular series Riverdale, dished on her skincare routine and fave product in a recent interview with Us Weekly.
A total rockstar, Reinhart has been really candid in the past about her issues with cystic acne, which sends an encouraging message to her fans.
"It makes you feel like s—t when everyone on TV or in the movies has perfect skin because it’s just not realistic," she told Us. "I look at myself on the show and my skin looks pretty perfect, but it’s not in real life. It really isn’t. It’s smoke and mirrors, really. I have cystic acne so I get major breakouts and have to go to the dermatologist all the time."
Lucky for us, Reinhart opened up to the magazine about her skincare routine and how she controls breakouts.
She sticks to a simple 3-step process. First, she uses an acne cleanser. She follows that with rosewater toner. And, lastly, she spot treats her pimples with a retinol cream.
"I’ve done cortisone shots for my big zits. I use spot treatments every night. I take major care of my skin," she said. "I feel like when it comes to the health and care for your skin, you have to go back to the basics. I use St. Ives' apricot scrub—it’s not super rough and it gets the job done. The point of exfoliators is to get dead skin off the face. It needs to have some grit to it. The scrub is definitely gritty, but it makes my skin feel like a baby’s butt when I’m done."
Basically, Lili Reinhart is our skincare role model and we're counting down the days until we can catch up with our fave, Betty Cooper, once Riverdale Season 2 returns.
New episodes premiere Oct. 11, and we can't wait to see what's next for Archie and the gang, especially with promises that the series is going "full dark, no stars."
